Description |
Ink drawing with white gouache touches to replicate light coming from miner's helmet. The image is the back of a miner working with a drill in a dark tunnel underground. This was a preparatory ink drawing intended to be developed into a woodblock according to the letter from her daughter, Leida Englar. There is no evidence in our keeping that in fact she did develop it into a wood block. Unsigned. It is assumed that this was done in Kirkland Lake but the only basis for this assumption is the subject matter. Medium: Drawing School Style: realistic Primary Support: PAPER Auxiliary Support: FOAMCORE; MATBOARD ink; INK DRAWING |
